This family of Janssens are referred to as "The Blindman Janssens" because of their origin. Piet Van Peer of Holland is a blind fancier and has always been highly regarded by the well informed fanciers such as John Sampson of Massachusetts. John sent a direct son of his last imported Van Peer Cock "448" to an auction in New Jersey. He always said that this bloodline was "money in the bank" so I wasn't going to leave that auction without bringing home "Kash Maker" the son of "448". This turned out to be a wise decision as this cock went on to breed winners on a regular basis.

In 2000 John sent me "1925" a grandson of "448" to race. The next season I put "Romeo" in the stock loft and paired him to a newly purchased direct daughter of Double T Lofts "Vader Chatearoux" Klak Janssen. Among the winners they bred was "Snowy" winner of 1st Snowy Mountain One Loft 300M and others winning at 365 miles as youngsters. I pretty much bought whatever children were available from "Vader Chatearoux", another daughter and 2 sons before he was finished. The pairings of these to my Blindman line was electric winning locally and in out of area races such as Vegas and Rocky Mountain Challenge overall winner.

I purchased a Blindman Janssen hen "Mama Mia" from Eddie Rodriguez out of the old Blindman bloodlines and she is now the mother on my Blindman family. This is a good time to thank Eddie for the quality he sent me including "Blindman" a gift from Eddie from the same lines.

Eric Gioiosa, a very good friend of mine has always been well aware of the Blindman Janssens and had the original bloodlines in his loft for years including "Oude Lichte". Many very well known fanciers achieved great success with the Blindman Janssens acquired from "Chinatown Loft" of Eric Gioiosa and Eric never asked for or received the credit for it. Well here it is pal, you are in my opinion the Roger Desmet of the U.S.A. very quietly supplying high quality foundation birds to many of the top U.S. lofts that go on to great success with them.

Eric was aware of my project of putting together a small high quality family of The Blindman Janssens and allowed me to purchase his last and top 5 Blindman stock birds from the old bloodlines. In addition Eric and I are breeding from his imported Blindman cock "The Stud" in one of my individual pens. We recently added the "Tri-Bar Hen" from Gene Greenwood's final sale.

We value these Blindman Janssens very highly because basically they are not available any more from the old bloodlines.
